Cosy Vel'Koz by Tinnu Cosy Vel'Koz by Tinnu
Edit: I've noticed my painting is being spread on the internet, which is kinda cool, but also used as signature in some Russian and Polish forums without giving credit. I mean, I feel flattered that people like it enough to use it but you could still give credit and not crop my signature out :( ... That's why: Ugly watermark. Sorry.

---------------------

Cosy Vel'Koz... see what I did there :B?

Vel'Koz, after a hard day at the Summoner's Rift, relaxing and doing what he loves most: learning about new things and enjoying a nice, hot cup of tea... mo. Ho ho. Don't ask how he's gonna drink it, that'd be SO rude.

I hate the colours, especially the one in the background, with a passion but just couldn't help myself. I couldn't come up with anything better. Ideas on nice colour combinations with purple are more than welcome... Quite a few things look wonky here but I didn't feel like spending any more time on it after 4 hours.

Serious question: How are people who are using something as an avatar which is like 150 pixels big or as an signature give the credit?

Very simple: You can add links to your signature

Not in every forum, but i wanted more to point out that it is just something nobody does.

Sgould the Hulk Hogan avatar using wrestling fan credit the WWE or Hulk Hogan? The Godzilla Movie Avatar using guy add a link to the movie company, or search who invented the character 70 years ago and add a link to the wikipedia entry about the monster or the creator? Does it really matter and will anyone ever care?

As a member of forums since around 1998 i know it from experience that if someone finds an avatar interesting he just asks the guy from where it is and gets an answer.

People are always our works, but whatever, we can't stop it anyway and the best we can do is move on and get more people interested in place like this one where people care about art or just we just share em online and are happy if people find a use for it.
Those are just my 2 cents and how i learned to deal with art thefts and copy-cats

'nuff said.

You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine. I didn't add this comment to start a debate about whether it's okay to use a fanart or not without giving credit. I'm just explaining to my friends (who usually are the only ones actually looking at my art) why this ugly watermark is there.

If someone uses my fanart, it's still my piece of work. I already moved on before you brought this up, so I'm not fussing about it, I've added my watermark and that's it.

And as a member of forums since around 1997 I know that most people don't care where a signature image is from. They'll take it and sometimes even tell others they drew it themselves :D

One might take it as a compliment that people use your images without asking or giving credit, but when it actually happens to you, it doesn't feel that nice anymore :(

I had a look at your stuff, it's really good and I hope noone will ever steal your art D:!!

Thanks I hope too. :D I was just being a little silly with that comment to be honest. Art theft is of course a serious issue. Especially nowadays when you can just download that work and say it is yours. I have come across some people on DA who did this and got quickly banned. You can usually tell when somebody is stealing from multiple artists at once. Even so I am not using watermark yet. I keep all my commercial things on my PC.
